Understanding Your Tax Instalment Payments

You may need to pay your taxes in instalments if your net tax owing is over a certain amount for a few years in a row. The CRA will send you instalment reminders in February and August. You have a few options for how much to pay, but the easiest way to avoid interest is to pay the no-calculation option amount listed on your reminder. You can make these payments through online banking or by setting up a pre-authorized debit.
