Your medical practitioner is crucial to the DTC application process as they must certify your eligibility on Form T2201. The CRA requires them to provide details on how the impairment affects your daily life, not just your diagnosis. They will need to explain how the impairment causes a marked restriction or how much time is spent on life-sustaining therapy. Be sure to discuss your daily challenges with your medical professional so they can accurately complete the form. Note that some practitioners may charge a fee for this service.
