One of the most significant digital improvements is designed to help taxpayers manage tax debts independently and confidentially.

The 'Manage Balance' Service:

• Launch Date: Starting October 20, 2025.

• Location: Available within the My Account portal.

• Functionality: This service allows taxpayers with outstanding tax debts of $1,000 or more to independently set up a payment arrangement.

• The Benefit: This eliminates the need for a taxpayer to speak directly with a Collections officer to establish a standard payment plan. Taxpayers can:

  • Make full or partial payments.

  • Schedule future payment plans.

  • Connect with a Collections officer or request a callback for more complex situations.

This tool aims to reduce the anxiety associated with debt management and free up collections officers to handle complex, high-value cases, improving overall service efficiency.
